I had the amazing opportunity to be a part of Riverboat Games, working on the DARE 2025 Winner and Audience Choice Award winning game, Galactic Postal Servitude!
My job as the environment artist was to ensure that the compact environment of the post office was filled with the tools the player needed to interact with, as well as decorative elements to really sell the run-down, outdated office look.
It was really interesting to take a different approach to modelling and texturing props as the game was stylised using a pixellated filter, which would blend together details, meaning that high-quality bakes were not ideal. I used a lot of solid colours mixed with grunges for roughness and metallic variation, and added subtle gradients to bring back the depth that was lost with the filter.
Overall, I'm really happy with what we created as a team and it was a great opportunity for me to work in a different style to what I'm used to!
A fun hologram shader I made as part of our employee feedback device !
